Tibetan Lama Pema Dorjee returns to the British School of Amsterdam

Tibetan Lama Geshe Pema Dorjee has dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged people in the Himalayan region. There, he has organized numerous charitable projects with emphasis on the poor, the elderly, street children, the sick and the disabled.
He currently runs 13 charitable projects including support for education, community improvement, health and environmental development. Amongst these is the establishment of a Nunnery/ Girls’ School in Lumla, Aarunachal Pradesh, India.
The purpose of this project is to build, house and educate 80 to 90 girls aged 8 to 14, who will become role models in their communities as teachers, mentors and social and health care workers of the future.
Geshe Pema Dorjee will be returning to the British School of Amsterdam almost 1 year after his last visit. He will talk again to students from the Junior and Secondary school on a number of inspirational topics.
We will also get the opportunity to hear direct from the source, how progress is being made with one of his humanitarian projects – the establishment of a Nunnery/ Girls’ School.

Tara Bodong (Netherlands) is a non-profit charitable foundation which supports humanitarian projects in the northern India and Nepal. The projects are initiated locally and overseen by the Tibetan lama, Geshe Pema Dorjee. The foundation is run by a group of International friends in Hilversum who together represent 10 different nationalities. They have various educational and professional backgrounds and expertise, but share the same goal; to do something meaningful with their lives and to help others less fortunate than them. They work voluntarily and aim to keep the organization as lean as possible by keeping overhead costs to a minimum, thus making sure that every euro donated goes entirely to the charity projects.
